Hangkai 4.0 Hp 4t User Manual

Update: Seller spelled out how to start the outboard motor (the manual, which was poorly translated from Chinese, is almost impossible to understand). Although I followed these steps and have still run into problems (returning the motor as we speak), others might find this useful:

1. Use oil mixture between 25:1 and 30:1.

At iboats you'll find repair manuals covering a wide range of outboards including Mercury, Mariner, Johnson, Evinrude, Yamaha, Honda, Force, Suzuki, Chrysler, Nissan and Tohatsu. We also carry a variety of copies of original owner's manuals, parts and service manuals for Johnson and Evinrude engines, published by Ken Cook.

  1. Access to Documents and Materials for Your Cummins Products Cummins produces a wide variety of documents to help customers get the most from their engines, generators and components. Much of this library is available online. Check out the digital resources listed below or contact us for help with your specific needs.
  2. Today I received the 3.5 HP Hangkai outboard motor that I ordered. It came with a package of 'things' that I have no idea what they are for. I am looking for 'how to start the motor for the first time. I am looking for a manual in English that I can understand, or a VIDEO. Jazaly (Monday, 08 February 2021 04:11).

2. After filling up the tank, press the rubber button twice to prime the carburetor.

3. Place the choke in “off” position.

4. After engine warms up, switch it to “on.”

5. Slowly advance the throttle, then slowly reduce again. Do this at least twice.

Tried to get a mechanic to look since the seller was willing to pay for repairs but no takers.

Update: Took it out last weekend on a lake and there’s something seriously wrong with it. It starts bucking and kicking like a mule, then stalls. Guy in my neighborhood who’s a mechanic suspects there’s debris or something in the carb.

Great. I’m going to have him take a look. If too $$ to fix, I’ll ship it back. Shipping is free. Just worried how long it will take to repair it and then ship it back. Want to use it next weekend in the Chesapeake Bay in Virginia.

Took my new Hangkai 3.5 HP outboard motor out on the lake today with my Sevylor inflatable kayak but couldn’t get it to start. In hindsight I should have done what I wound up doing: Testing it in a trash container. That’s because as I was yanking away, I wasn’t sure whether I had the choke off or on. Lot of discussion on message boards and elsewhere about the “off” and “on” being mislabeled.

That off is really on. But it seems that on is really on (the upward position). Took a good number of times to get it started (seems to be typical from what I gather), but worked nicely afterward. After shutting it off, it only took me two cranks to get it going again. And it never stalled on me. Ready give it another try on the lake.

Definitely will be taking this next time I do some kayak fishing in Pamlico Sound.
