Renew Your New York License or ID

The New York DMV Office Harlem is located in New York and provides these services: Driver’s License and Renewal, Identification Cards, Written Test, Road Test, Vehicle Registration, Vehicle Titles, License Plates, Commercial Driver’s License (CDL), CDL Written Test, CDL Driving Test. To schedule a reservation with the Department of Motor Vehicles (DMV), use the online system. There, you must: Choose your county and location. Select the service you need assistance with. Renew NY License Online

Before renewing your license online, you will need to update your address (if applicable) and complete a vision exam*, either:

  • Visit an approved provider.

OR

  • Have a medical professional examine you and submit the Vision Test Report (MV-619) online.

Once you’ve completed your vision exam*, visit the DMV online renewal portal and enter your:

  • ID/license number.
  • Zip code.
  • Email.
  • Credit/debit card information.

After completing your transaction, you’ll be able to print a temporary license/ID. Your permanent card will arrive by mail in approximately 10 business days. If it takes longer than 2 weeks, contact the DMV.
