Symptoms
Mac Outlook Missing Microsoft Store Icon Image
When you examine the Windows taskbar, the Outlook icon is not displayed even though Outlook is running and there is an Outlook icon in the notification area of the taskbar. The following figure demonstrates this problem.
Cause
This scenario occurs when you have enabled the Hide When Minimized option for Outlook and you minimize the main Outlook window. This option is available when you select the Outlook icon in the notification area.
If the icon for Outlook has been accidentally removed from the Dock, it should be fairly straightforward to re-add it. The Dock is simply a list of icon shortcuts, so the actual application should still be in its original location (most likely the Applications folder). I'm using the Outlook 2016 client on Mac. Even though during their April release, Microsoft had confirmed that Groups is now available for Outlook on Mac, the icon is still missing from my MacBook Air Outlook client. I've tried removing my account and signing it again, still no luck. Restart Internet Explorer and Outlook. Now before you tell me you don't use IE,fire up Outlook, then look in Task Manager. Kill IE from there. If it didn't work, enable Protected mode on Restricted Zone and try.
For more information about rules, see Create or edit a rule in Outlook for Mac 2011. If you have only Exchange accounts in Outlook, the On My Computer folders are hidden by default. This helps simplify the folder structure in the navigation pane. Microsoft Office Outlook 2007 and earlier versions store the AutoComplete list in a nickname (.nk2) file on the disk. Outlook 2010, Outlook 2013, and Outlook 2016 store the AutoComplete list as a hidden message in your primary message store. Outlook 2010, Outlook 2013, and Outlook 2016 let you import the older.nk2 files.
